ASSEMBLY DRAWINGS
The drawing to the right is a typical assembly drawing with item bubbles and a Bill of Materials. The function of the BOM also doubles as a flow chart.
The point here is to display how the assembly drawing can be used to effectively communicate different assembly functions for example assembly steps, test & calibration procedures, packing and shipping instructions.
When I create an assembly drawing I intend to maximize the relevant information as much as possible but not to over do it to were it becomes confusing. To much information can have an opposite effect. In that case I will extract a sub-assembly drawing or a separate document all together.
